A coven of modern-day witches. A magical heist-gone-wrong. A looming threat.

Five octogenarian witches gather as an angry mob threatens to demolish Moonshyne Manor. All eyes turn to the witch in charge, Queenie, who confesses they’ve fallen far behind on their mortgage payments. Still, there’s hope, since the imminent return of Ruby—one of the sisterhood who’s been gone for thirty-three years—will surely be their salvation.

But the mob is only the start of their troubles. One man is hellbent on avenging his family for the theft of a legacy he claims was rightfully his. In an act of desperation, Queenie makes a bargain with an evil far more powerful than anything they’ve ever faced. Then things take a turn for the worse when Ruby’s homecoming reveals a seemingly insurmountable obstacle instead of the solution to all their problems.

The witches are determined to save their home and themselves, but their aging powers are no match for increasingly malicious threats. Thankfully, they get a bit of help from Persephone, a feisty TikToker eager to smash the patriarchy. As the deadline to save the manor approaches, fractures among the sisterhood are revealed, and long-held secrets are exposed, culminating in a fiery confrontation with their enemies.

What if one masked encounter could crack open a heart long sealed?

Maeve Carter knows the safety of sarcasm and solitude—especially in October, when her little bookstore glows with pumpkin candles and faux cobwebs. But a friend’s insistence drags her to a Halloween masquerade, where a chance meeting in lace and shadows leaves her unexpectedly unguarded.

He’s a quiet craftsman who prefers carving wood to crowded rooms, yet something about her quick wit and hidden kindness pulls him into her orbit. In that dimly lit world of masks and moonlight, they share moments that feel far more honest than any they’ve lived before.

Back in the real world, their paths cross again in texts and tentative invitations—coffee, late-night banter, a shared pastry—each small step a test of their courage. She battles old fears; he wrestles with ghosts of his own past. Yet each gesture, each gift left on a doorstep or whispered in a workshop, chips away at the walls they’ve built.

When misunderstanding and mistrust threaten to undo them, it’s the quiet bravery of unmasking that proves the deepest magic isn’t in grand gestures, but in showing up—again and again—for the chance at something real.

In a story carved piece by piece, Maeve and Eli discover that the truest kind of love is the one you choose to brave.

Love At First Fright by Nadia El-Fassi

Rosemary Shaw’s ability to see the dead has never scared her. In fact, it’s secretly inspired most of her horror novels. Now at twenty-nine, Rosemary is an acclaimed author, and her most successful book is about to be a blockbuster movie. The film set is in a beautiful manor house in the English countryside, and it’s no surprise there are ghosts hanging around. But ghosts are something Rosemary can handle; she’s not so sure how to deal with her infuriatingly handsome leading man, who is all wrong for the role.

Ellis Finch is a longtime Hollywood heartthrob with a secret of his own. He’s tired of playing the action movie hero and would much rather be gardening with his sweet dog, Fig. Frankly, he’s getting too old to maintain the industry’s standards of what a man should look like. Starring in a historical horror movie will be perfect for his new image, until he finds out that the author tried to get him kicked off the project, but Ellis won’t go down without a fight.

Amidst filming the movie and the chemistry-filled feuding between Rosemary and Ellis, Hallowvale manor comes alive, literally. Trying to balance the mayhem of her writing deadlines, an adorable ghostly dog, and a pair of Regency-era women who are definitely nothing more than friends, Rosemary is at risk of telling Ellis her secret, or worse—falling for him.

Crazy Spooky Love by Josie Silver

Crazy Spooky Love by Josie Silver

In the leafy, charming town of Chapelwick, the Bittersweet family has been a fixture on High Street for as long as anyone can remember. Their rambling black-and-white building houses all three generations of ghost-sensitive Bittersweet women and their business, Blithe Spirits.

On her twenty-seventh birthday, Melody Bittersweet converts the disused back storeroom into her office and opens her own business. Unlike the rest of her family, she’s not taking down messages from ghosts—she’s taking them out.

Right away, the freshly minted Girls’ Ghostbusting Agency takes on its first case: a grand old house that won’t sell because a trio of incumbent ghost brothers raise merry hell whenever prospective owners arrive to view it.

It soon becomes clear that there’s a whole heap of unfinished business between the Scarborough brothers—including murder—and Melody isn’t the only one trying to unravel the mystery. Leo Dark, her rakish ex and business rival, is also on the case, along with the TV crew that trails him.

To make matters worse, the sarcastic and skeptical (and annoyingly good-looking) local reporter Fletcher Gunn has his nose in the story as well. Sniffing out a way to publicly discredit the Bittersweets is his favorite assignment—and has absolutely nothing to do with his inability to resist Melody.

With her business on the line, it’s up to Melody to work out the brothers’ issues, but can she protect her own very susceptible heart from Fletcher’s charm? Does she even want to?

A Very No Strings Halloween by Kayley Loring

A Very No Strings Halloween by Kayley Loring

Halloween: it’s a holiday where people shed their boring everyday personalities and become fantastic beings ready for an epic party. Well, guess what? That’s Billy Boston 24/7, 365, baby! It’s who I was before I became a millionaire and it’s who I’ll always be.

My beautiful next door neighbor, Donna, is a hardworking nurse who takes her job seriously and her fun even more so. All she wants is a no-strings arrangement and that’s fine by me. It’s Halloween for us every time we’re together because she likes to role play. There’s no way to get attached if we’re both pretending to be someone else, right?

It’s all smooth as a good whiskey until my married cousins bet me that I can’t get a serious girlfriend by November.
So, Donna and I make a deal: She’ll help fix me up to be a proper boyfriend and I’ll help fix up the farmhouse she inherited.

The one she thinks is haunted. And that’s not the scary part. Because I realize I’m falling wicked hard for Donna.  For real. She’s spooked by the ghost, but I’m afraid I’ll spook her if I tell her how I really feel. We made a pact when we started this no-strings thing: If either of us gets serious, we have to end it.

I have to trick Donna into thinking she’s teaching me how to date, when really I’m treating her to dates with me.
But if I screw this up, I’ll lose the woman I’m in love with. And that’ll haunt me forever.

Summoned on Halloween by Kristin Lance

How I snagged a Halloween date with a real demon:

Step 1: Mixed up a batch of spiked punch using a recipe I found in my grandmother’s non-magical cookbook. Well, most likely non-magical. How’s a girl to tell for sure?

Step 2: Watched my sister over-indulge on said punch and barf into our grandmother’s definitely magical cauldron.

Step 3: When the demon appears, ignore him. Or maybe mistake him for a guy who is very committed to his cosplay. And to his abdominal workouts.

Step 4: Wait for the kidnapping.

Step 5: Avoid the kitsune who shows up to try and save me, even if he is just as hot as the demon.

Step 6: See what kinds of sexy hijinks follow! And stop looking so worried, I’m sure the demon isn’t saying he actually devours humans. It was probably a euphemism. Or an exaggeration. Wasn’t it?

A Ghost Of A Chance by Brittany Kelley

A Ghost Of A Chance by Brittany Kelley

I only pretend to be the town psychic—which means my crystal ball never told me I’d be moving in with my elderly aunt and dealing with her hot, grumpy neighbor. Sure, she’s hilarious, and she’s letting me stay in her tiny guest house in return for dealing with her ‘ghost problem.’ The catch? I don’t really believe in the supernatural. Even worse, Ward Carlisle, her hunky neighbor, is a real pain in my pumpkin patch. The fact our families have been feuding over some land for centuries doesn’t help, either.

When Ward shows up at my fortune-telling booth at the town fall festival desperate for my help, he promises he’ll give my aunt the land she wants if I can fake a relationship with him until Halloween—and convince his ex-girlfriend we’re in love. I’m always down for a little mayhem, and if it means getting one up on prickly Ward, I’m totally game.

But bizarre occurrences keep pushing Ward and I together: spooky calls for help which have me running to him in the night, phantom cold spots which push us together for warmth, and visions of people who aren’t really there that scare me right into his arms. Even stranger, though, is all this time we’re spending together means I’m getting to see the real him… and I like it. Things between us start heating up just as the weather turns cold.

I’m not sure which is more unbelievable: that Ward and I could have something real, or that my aunt might be right about her ghost problem.

Harvest Grove News: Another Halloween season is upon us! As usual, please be mindful of the movie fans traveling from Vine Street to Cinnamon Way.

Favorite bar owner, Ford Prescott, is back in town for his yearly stay, making this his sixth October in Harvest Grove! Be sure to welcome him warmly when you see him at the Wicked Pub and Grub. Single ladies - try not to overwhelm the poor man with so many baked goods this year.

Sidney Tanner wants residents to know her Severed Head Succulents will be buy one, get one free before the countdown to midnight begins on October Eve. Since it’s likely she’ll be in jail at some point that night, please text her your orders.

Still seeking volunteers for various events around town: Someone to organize pumpkin carving night at the Gore House. An extra, bloody cheerleader for the yearly viewing of The Babysitter’s Last Halloween. Costume will be provided. A brave soul to keep an eye on the Tanner girls this month. We don’t want a repeat of last year’s corn maze incident, or the mashed potato fiasco in poor Jarvis’s yard previously.

We assume Ford will be volunteering for that last one, since he and Sidney are always joined at the hip when he’s in town. A little bat tells me these October best friends will be heating things up in town this year. Sparks will be flying–no offense to Colleen or the Tanner girls who set her garage on fire–and these two might just be carving out some time for love this Halloween!

Fasten your sheet belts, Harvest Grove! Let’s hope when the clock strikes midnight on October 31st, our dear Sidney won’t be ghosted again…

It breaks all of the rules, but Mika goes anyway, and is immediately tangled up in the lives and secrets of not only her three charges, but also an absent archaeologist, a retired actor, two long-suffering caretakers, and…Jamie. The handsome and prickly librarian of Nowhere House would do anything to protect the children, and as far as he’s concerned, a stranger like Mika is a threat. An irritatingly appealing threat.

As Mika begins to find her place at Nowhere House, the thought of belonging somewhere begins to feel like a real possibility. But magic isn't the only danger in the world, and when peril comes knocking at their door, Mika will need to decide whether to risk everything to protect a found family she didn’t know she was looking for....

A Very Mountain Man Halloween by Shaw Hart

A Very Mountain Man Halloween by Shaw Hart

He’s my kidnapper… and my protector?

Magnolia

It all started three months ago. That was when my restraining order was finally approved. Unfortunately, it hasn’t stopped my stalker from following me from one town to the next. Then I make a stop in Fallen Peak and my situation seems to go from bad to worse.

Graham

I don’t know what drew me to the curvy blonde bombshell, but one look and I knew that she was meant to be mine. When I clock the hooded figure following her, I react and kidnap her before they can hurt her. Now I’ve got to convince my dream girl that she can trust me to keep her safe while unraveling the mystery of who is really after her.

Will Graham be able to slay Magnolia’s monsters this Halloween and convince her that she belongs with him?
