Our Review

A Collision With Love grabs your attention right from the start. As we dive into the story, it’s easy to appreciate how a book can completely pull us in, and this one does just that. We connect with Cassie, who struggles with her doubts about Daniel's feelings for her, her lack of confidence in social settings, and her drive to succeed. But things aren’t always what they seem. In her quest to become a Senior Partner at her law firm, Cassie pours so much into her job that she often overlooks her relationship with Daniel. Is her ambition going to cost her his love? The characters in this story are depicted with such authenticity that they feel like people we might know in real life. The writing is captivating, and during a nail-biting scene where Cassie narrowly avoids an accident, we found ourselves looking up her possible symptoms. When the story took an unexpected twist, we felt a pang of sympathy for both Cassie and Daniel, leaving us anxious about their future. We were genuinely saddened for her and surprised by the ending. Tricia LaRochelle’s book made a strong impact on us, and we can’t wait to read it again.

Playing Mr. Perfect by Melissa Foster

3 - Playing Mr. Perfect by Melissa Foster

What happens in Paris, stays in Paris, right?

Oh, Pepper. If only...

Okay, I admit it.

Sleeping with the NFL quarterback who the media has dubbed Mr. Perfect might not have been the smartest move, but I'm in the City of Love, I'd had a few drinks, and was jacked up on giddy girl talk and hopeful hearts-two things I never buy into-and I threw caution to the wind.

I want to sneak out before he wakes up, but when I open my eyes, he's already up.

In more ways than one.

Convincing the ridiculously cocky (pun intended) man that I'm not the woman he slept with last night is awkward.

Actually, he makes it impossible.

The thing is, I don't even know who that woman was.

And now he's determined to find out.

Only Samuel—Luce's best friend and an English smuggler—understands her longing for the sea, secretly teaching her to sail whenever she can sneak away. For Luce, the stolen time on the water with Samuel is precious.

One stormy morning, Luce's plans are blown off course when she rescues Morgan de Chatelaine, the youngest son of the most powerful ship-owner in Saint-Malo, from the sea. Immediately drawn to his charm and sense of adventure, she longs to attend the glittering ball held in honor of his safe return and begins to contemplate a different kind of future for herself.

But it is not only Luce's hopes at stake—the local fae are leaving Brittany and taking their magic with them, while the long-standing war with the English means Saint-Malo is always at risk of attack. As Luce is plunged into a world of magic, brutality, and seduction, secrets that have long been lost in the shadowy depths of the ocean begin to rise to the surface. The truth of her own power is growing brighter and brighter, shining like a sea-glass slipper.

Or the scales of a sea-maid's tail.

War Games by Sheridan Anne

Our agreement was strictly professional…until it wasn’t.

As an escort to the ultra-rich, I knew my place in the world. I’d mastered the art of blending in and keeping my true self—and my desires—hidden.

When billionaire Eric Maxim hired me to be his date to an exclusive art show, I expected another impersonal arrangement. But Eric, with his piercing blue eyes and arrogant charm, was anything but ordinary.

Eric didn’t want complications. All he needed was a polished date for various events—not someone like me—a much younger woman who challenged him, exasperated him, and worst of all, made him feel.

Just as we were on the brink of something real, shadows from my past threatened to tear us apart. Would Eric and I find a way to overcome our fears and fight for the connection we never saw coming, or would doubt and betrayal destroy our chance at happiness?

His in the Dark by Willow Winters

10 - His in the Dark by Willow Winters

There are two things I've always known:

Magic is real.

The Gods have no mercy for women like me.

I was born into power although what little I have is dying. Nonetheless, I've been protected all my life. There are myths and tales that say one day I will come to a fork in a long, long path. Either the light will take me or the dark. I never paid any mind to the whispers and warnings...

Until he crept into my window late at night.

Cloaked in darkness, silent as death. Every inch of me felt terror and yet I also felt something else. Something I'd never known.

He tasted like sin ... and I loved it.

In a single moment, my entire world went dark and I was nothing more than a captive in the Underworld.

Nothing but his and suddenly all the lore brought a chill to my bones... even if he did light a fire in the most secret depths of me.

Prepare for a dark retelling of Hades and Persephone with spells and war and a love story that would change our world forevermore.

On Loverose Lane by Samantha Young

It’s always the broody ones you have to watch out for….

Imagine my surprise when my new neighbor turns out to be Callan Keen, one of Scotland’s most famous (and hottest) professional footballers. I’m even more shocked to discover that the brooding player is still holding a grudge for something that happened between us years ago.

When a huge client opportunity arises, I’m forced to ask Callan for help. I need a fake date and he needs an introduction with my real estate mogul dad. The deal between us should be simple. Except for the blazing chemistry we’ve shared since the moment we met. We can’t deny it, we can’t control it, and soon we’re agreeing to a six week, no-strings-attached, mind-blowing affair.

I told myself I wouldn't catch feelings for Callan, but the closer we get, the more he reminds me of the guy I once fell for. It just might prove impossible to show my stubborn Scotsman we’re worth the risk, especially when the past continues to haunt us and threaten to wreck any chance of a future together…

Lucky Shot by K. Bromberg

13 - Lucky Shot by K. Bromberg

Our first meeting? He stood me up.
Our second chance encounter? I told him exactly what I thought of him.
Our third? It came with a bet (he lost) and an understanding that we’re stuck with one another.

It doesn’t matter that he’s Alexander Hardy—British soccer star extraordinaire, world-famous in every way, and a certified sex symbol. We come from two different worlds and live in two different realities. But all we need is one month.

The bet: Help him rehab his reputation to the media and the masses, and in exchange, he’ll help my soccer academy and the underprivileged kids who idolize him.

That doesn’t mean I have to like him. Not his delicious accent, his sexy smirk or those storm cloud gray eyes. Not his incredibly fit body or his sinfully dirty mouth. Not even the way he shows up day after day for the kids or the way he looks at me like he wants to devour me.

He looks at time spent in my world as a penance, while I look at it as a way to leverage his star power to help my academy survive.

But as the days turn to weeks, it seems we’re not as different as I once thought. The man who cares about no one, has fixed his sights on me. With his time at my academy up and his obligations back home calling, do we have a lucky shot of working out?

The Drummer's Heart by Penelope Ward

21 - The Drummer's Heart by Penelope Ward

Don’t say her name. That was the one rule my bandmates followed, because they knew how much it messed me up to think about her, especially on tour.

My ex, Nicole. The one who got away and the woman who still owned every piece of my heart. After our divorce, I threw myself into the rock scene, trying to forget my heartbreak.

Three years after we split, a phone call from Nicole changed everything. She told me her grandmother wasn’t doing well. Mimi was still family to me, and she apparently had one wish before dying: to spend time with us—Nicole and me. With Mimi’s caretaker away on vacation, it would be the ideal time for us to move in with her for a couple of weeks. Of course, I couldn’t refuse.

But there was a catch. Nicole apparently never told her that we’d gotten a divorce. She hadn’t believed Mimi could handle it, because her grandmother loved me so much. So, not only would I have to see Nicole again, but I’d be pretending to still be her husband.

Two weeks in a tiny house in a small town with the woman who broke my heart. Or was it me who broke hers? It was complicated. And it was about to be a heck of a lot more complicated sharing one bed in the guest room with a woman who wasn’t mine anymore.

Grace Hastings's dream job at the popular 'true love' dating app, Fate, has turned into a nightmare. Her boss is a leech, her career is stagnating, and her fiancé has just brutally dumped her. Her hope for finding her own love story is waning, and she feels like a fraud for promoting a concept she no longer believes in. When the company's CEO offers her an opportunity to earn a big promotion, she resolves to fight her imposter syndrome to show she deserves a seat at the table.

The opportunity?
To launch a brand-new app focusing on IRL dating and genuine connection.

The problem?
She must develop and test drive a series of 'first dates' with the other person gunning for the job: notorious socialite playboy and Grace's biggest work rival, Eric Bancroft.

During their disastrous hikes, dangerous cooking classes and steamy yoga sessions, they begin to realise their stark differences may just be surface level and Eric might just be the perfect person to challenge Grace's perceptions of love, dating culture and self-worth.

Cecily Foster loves to make podcasts. She fiercely protects her colleagues, dearly adores her friends, and never misses dinner with her sister. But after a disastrous relationship with a colleague who stole her heart and her ideas, she’s put romantic love on hold.

When the boss who’s disappointed her again and again finally offers her the chance to host her own show, she wants to be thrilled. But there’s a catch—actually, two catches. First, the show will be about Cecily’s dating life. And second, she has to follow the guidance of influencer and newly minted relationship coach Eliza Cassidy, whose relentlessly upbeat attitude seems ready-made for social media, not real life.

Cecily would rather do anything other than put her singledom on display (ugh) or take advice from the internet (UGH). But when her boss hints that doing the show is the only way to protect a friend’s job, she realizes she has no choice.

To make matters more complicated, once she’s committed to twenty blind dates of Eliza’s choosing, Cecily finds herself unable to stop thinking about Will, a photographer she helped to rescue a very big and very lovable lost dog. Even though there are sparks between the two, Will’s own path is uncertain, and Eliza’s skeptical comments about Cecily’s decision-making aren’t helping. On the one hand, Will seems great. But on the other hand . . . don’t they all?

As Cecily struggles to balance the life she truly desires and the one Eliza wants to create for her, she finds herself at a crossroads. Can Cecily sort through all the advice and find a way to do what she loves without losing herself in the process?
