Dallas & Georgia by Sarah Forester Davis

1 - Dallas & Georgia by Sarah Forester Davis

Dallas and Georgia have been best friends since birth. Every summer they reunite when Georgia and her mom make the fourteen-hour drive to stay with Dallas and his family. Each summer brings on new, not always parent approved adventures, and every year they grow closer and closer together.

This summer everything changes.

At seventeen years old Dallas and Georgia realize staying best friends might not be where the future is taking them.

After a night of regrets, they're forced to volunteer at the local retirement center for the summer. There they meet an elderly resident of Bar Harbor and through her hilarious and rather blunt life lessons, they're taught the meaning of true love.

Is this enough for them to take the leap into something more? Most importantly, what will happen if they do?

Our Review

Dallas and Georgia are fated to become best friends, as their mothers have shared a close bond for many years. Their summers are spent together at the beach in Dallas' family home. Dallas is accompanied by two energetic brothers, and both mothers are single. We thoroughly appreciated the family dynamics and every aspect of this book, and we wholeheartedly endorse it, along with any other works by Sarah and her upcoming releases. She and her characters genuinely inspire belief in soulmates and enduring love. This book is a must-read! It was exceptional, and we cherished every moment of it. It is both poignant and beautifully crafted, guaranteed to evoke laughter and tears.

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers

California’s gold country, 1850. A time when men sold their souls for a bag of gold and women sold their bodies for a place to sleep.

Angel expects nothing from men but betrayal. Sold into prostitution as a child, she survives by keeping her hatred alive. And what she hates most are the men who use her, leaving her empty and dead inside.

Then she meets Michael Hosea, a man who seeks his Father’s heart in everything. Michael obeys God’s call to marry Angel and to love her unconditionally. Slowly, day by day, he defies Angel’s every bitter expectation, until despite her resistance, her frozen heart begins to thaw.

But with her unexpected softening comes overwhelming feelings of unworthiness and fear. And so Angel runs. Back to the darkness, away from her husband’s pursuing love, terrified of the truth she no longer can deny: her final healing must come from the One who loves her even more than Michael does . . . the One who will never let her go.

A powerful retelling of the story of Gomer and Hosea, Redeeming Love is a life-changing story of God’s unconditional, redemptive, all-consuming love.

Chasing Harlow by Jay McLean

7 - Chasing Harlow by Jay McLean

What started as a bet can only end in heartache.

Moving to the middle of nowhere right before my senior year wasn't ideal. Then again, neither was my brother dying.

The move was supposed to be a fresh start. A new town, a new school, a new mindset. Too bad my past indiscretions followed me.

Enter Jace Rivera, the literal boy next door. Jace is loved by the town. Admired by his peers. Worshipped by his teammates. On the basketball court, he's a god amongst men. Off the court, he's… nothing at all like I expected.

He's profound and pure and… devastatingly tortured. Yet somehow, he offers me light while I offer him hope.

In the end, we'll either hurt or heal each other. There's no in-between.

"Pain is the price we pay for love," he once told me.

And a broken heart is the consequence of it.
