One Small Spark by Genny Carrick
Nemesis: the inescapable agent of one’s downfall. See also Shepherd Callahan.
I can’t escape Callahan. Believe me, I’ve tried.
Ever since he opened his bike shop next door to my family’s bakery, the broody man’s been unavoidable. Whether he’s sauntering into our store to ask pointed questions about our pies or stealing my favorite parking spot, he’s skilled at getting under my skin.
He even schemed his way into the exclusive romance book club that finally issued me an invitation. The ladies there love him—and seem convinced I should love him, too.
Fat chance. I have my reasons for loathing the man, I don’t care how many romantic books he reads.
When I accidentally learn his secrets, I find myself developing an unwelcome soft spot for my supposed nemesis. He’s kinder and more protective than I ever guessed, and I’m drawn to him in ways I don’t care to admit.
My default is sour, not sweet. I don’t swoon, I snark. I can’t open myself up to him, even if I’m starting to want to.
But when he kisses me like his life depends on it? My downfall is inevitable.
Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend by Kate Watson
Sean
When my ex cheated and begged me to take her back, I made a rash, too-public vow: the next woman I kiss will be my wife. It seemed like a good idea at the time—anything to stop being everyone’s second choice. The ultimate fallback guy. Then the Kayla Carville walks into my bar, all bold and stunning. When she hears my ex tearing me apart, she kisses me to shut her up. And when she learns about my stupid promise, she offers me a way to save face: we’ll claim we’re engaged. The thing is, this isn’t about some stupid vow anymore. It’s about finding the courage to stop being the backup goalie and finally go for what I really want. If I can.
Kayla
My ex is the worst, so my dad bought me a baseball team. Classic billionaire-dad move. Now I’m living in a small Southern town that hates me, trying to convince everyone I’m an absolute delight, not some generic “Boss Babe.” They’re not buying it. Except for Sean O’Shannan, the hot hometown hockey hero and bar owner who gave me the courage to break up with my fiancé months ago. He’s the kind of guy who remembers my smoothie order, saves a seat for me at the church potluck…and proposes when he discovers I don’t meet the team’s “ownership residency requirement.” Saying yes is easy. The hard part?
Not falling for my husband.
One More Made Up Love Song by Jenny Proctor
Rule #1: Do not fall in love with your very famous boss. Rule #2: See Rule #1.
As the personal assistant of rockstar Freddie Ridgefield, Ivy Conway knows most women would love to have her job. It definitely has its perks. She gets to travel, the pay is great, and she’s among the first to hear Freddie’s new music.
The only problem? When she got the job, Ivy promised herself she would never fall in love with her boss. And it’s taking everything in her to stay true to her word.
Then Freddie kisses Ivy—an impulsive move to save himself from a little bit of bad press—and everything changes. Now, the whole world thinks they’re in love.
Even more significant: Ivy could swear Freddie felt the same fireworks she did when he pressed his lips to hers.
What starts as an accidental publicity stunt quickly turns into something more, but fame makes everything more complicated. As Freddie’s spotlight grows to include her—and her family—Ivy starts to wonder if the life Freddie can offer her is worth the life she’ll give up. And how she’ll ever survive without him if it isn’t.

The Confidentiality Clause by Annah Conwell
My best friend’s brother needs help. And not just because he’s the most annoying man on the face of the earth.

This makes everyone who loves him worry—namely, his twin and my best friend, Sutton.

He begs me not to tell Sutton his secret. I agree, but on one condition: he lets me help him out of this mess.

The Romcom Remake by Jen Atkinson
She’s plotting a romcom. He’s playing without a game plan. But sometimes the best love stories are the ones that don’t follow the script.

True love is out there. It’s real. And Fran won’t be leaving without it.

But Fran’s got more than luck on her side–she’s on a mission: Convince Callum that love is not the enemy. And somehow, it’s working. Bit by bit, he’s realizing he does need love in his life.
Or maybe he just needs Fran.

All's Well that Friends Well by Gracie Ruth Mitchell
My love for Luca Slater is not unrequited. It’s just…not requited yet.
Did I break into his house? Technically yes. And did I eavesdrop on that one tiny little conversation? Also yes. But I had good reasons! Intentions matter, you know?
Unfortunately, Luca does not agree. So while I fell for him at first sight, his opinion of me is dismally low, and it’s about to get lower. Because as of today, I am officially working at his office…as the new janitor.
Cleaning toilets isn’t sexy, and I am not cut out for sanitizer and scrub brushes. But I need this job--begged for this job, in fact--so I’m going to make the best of it.
When I see Luca is having some work problems of his own, however, and when I realize I might be just the person to help, I offer my services immediately. As the new branch manager, he needs help softening his image in order to win over his employees, and if there’s one thing I’m great at, it’s people skills.
If I can prove useful, maybe Luca will finally see me as a woman instead of a silly little girl. Maybe he’ll finally realize I’m the one he’s destined to be with forever.
So I’ll help Luca win over his employees, and while I’m at it, I’ll win him over, too. I’m going to do everything I can to make this man fall for me… One mopped floor at a time.
If All Else Sails by Emma St. Clair
When Josie's brother sends her to a random address for their (sometimes) annual Super Summer Sibling Extravaganza, she finds neither siblings nor extravaganzas. Instead, ends up at a run-down cottage on the Northern Neck of Virginia occupied by a hockey player she knows and loathes.
A hockey player who isn't just one of her sports agent brother's clients. He's also his best friend. And Josie's sworn enemy. Oh--and her brother wants Josie to help Wyatt recover from his injury.
Dragging grumpy hockey players to physical therapy is a far cry from bandaging skinned knees, but for the price her brother offers to pay, Josie is willing to try. Even if it means sharing what she dubs the quaint little murder cottage with Wyatt.
Begrudgingly, Josie starts to see a little more of the man behind the grumpy exterior. And when she finds out he was supposed to sail the Intracoastal Waterway south to Savannah scattering his uncle's ashes, Josie surprises even herself by offering to be Wyatt's first mate.
Smooth sailing is nowhere to be found, and Josie begins to wonder if they'll be able to make it home without killing--or kissing?--each other.
And yet, the longer they share cramped quarters and canned food, the more of Wyatt's layers she peels back until Josie realizes she misunderstood him, their shared history, and perhaps herself as well.
Near Miss by Haley Warren
He’s not sure he’s ever been real. She’s not sure she’ll ever be whole again.
Beckett Davis has been many things: reliable, likeable, on track to be the most accurate kicker in professional football history, and multiple-time winner of made-up awards, like pro-athlete with the most beautiful smile.
He’s also spent a lifetime shouldering responsibilities that didn’t belong to him, but he doesn’t like to think about that. Until a missed kick makes him one of the most hated people in the city and lands him doing damage control as a volunteer in his least favourite place: a hospital.
But it’s where he meets her.
Greer Roberts deals in logic and absolutes. She spends her days performing surgery and staying behind carefully constructed boundaries that keep what’s left of her safe, even though she’s not sure how either of those things make her feel anymore. There is one thing she’s absolutely certain of, though: she doesn’t date. So it doesn’t matter that a downtrodden Beckett Davis ends up in the same elevator as her, and, in a moment of weakness, she invites him to volunteer with her patients.
She might see right through him, and he might understand her in a way that no one else ever has, but they’re just business acquaintances.
Until they’re not. And nothing scares her more than that.
With This Ring by Amy Clipston

The Perfect Rom-Com by Melissa Ferguson
She’s written dozens of smash-hit romance novels. Too bad no one knows it.
Aspiring author Bryony Page attends her first writers conference bursting with optimism and ready to sell her manuscript with long-shot dreams of raising awareness for The Bridge, her grandmother’s financially struggling organization where she teaches ESL full-time. But after a disastrous pitch session, she stumbles into correcting another author’s work in a last-ditch attempt to make a good impression with the agent. And she, as it turns out, is spot on.
No one is more surprised than Bryony when the agent offers her the opportunity to be a ghostwriter for Amelia Benedict, popular rom-com novelist. Bryony agrees on one condition: she’ll write books for this vain, demanding woman just as long as Jack Sterling, literary agent of the legendary Foundry Literary Agency, works to sell her own book too.
What nobody predicted, however, was that Bryony’s books would turn Amelia Benedict into the Amelia Benedict, household name and bestselling author with millions of copies sold around the world.
And just like that, the Foundry Agency can’t let her go. But on a personal note, Jack is realizing he can’t either.

Summer Ever After by Kortney Keisel
Falling in love is easy. Finding the right guy to spend happily ever after with... that's the hard part.
But I have a foolproof plan. I'm taking the tropes that work in romance books and applying them to my love life.
Only one bed? Never fails. Caring for someone when they're sick? A classic. "Who did this to you?" Seals the deal every single time. So long, loneliness. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
But the more I try to force romance, the more feelings naturally progress with the one man who's off limits: Walker Collins, the guy I've had a secret crush on since 7th grade, not to mention my best friend's older brother.
Dating Walker crosses BFF lines I swore I'd never cross. Plus, he hates Sunset Harbor, and his pro golf career will take him off the island as fast as he came, sending me back to the land of singlehood, loneliness, and broken hearts.
At the end of the day, I don't want to be the fool in my foolproof plan.

Easy peasy lemon sque... Oops.

The One with the Kiss Cam by Cindy Steel
It was just one date. My friend told me I needed more fun in my life, so I reluctantly said yes. Fun wasn’t exactly in my wheelhouse. After watching my own mother’s love life implode time and time again it’s only natural that I have a few rules to protect myself.
Actually, it’s just one rule… Avoid relationships with men so I don’t get attached.
I wasn’t worried. Getting attached has never been a problem for me. This guy was just a warm body in a chair. I was here for the basketball game. I was absolutely NOT here for my date.
Or the kiss cam. Or the kiss. Or the impromptu evening with the one man who seems bent on throwing my tidy world off of its axis.
But when my life takes a nose dive, he’s also the man who seems bent on proving to me that good men do exist, dreams can come true, and sometimes throwing out the rule book is when the magic really starts to happen.
Picking Daisies on Sundays by Liana Cincotti
Daniella Daisy Maria wanted love. It’s all she hoped for when watching endless rom-coms every Friday night. What she hadn't hoped for was to find it in her childhood best friend Levi. But it all ended when he didn’t feel the same way and she vowed to never see him again.
Four years later and one night in a crowded bar in the West Village, there he was, just as perfect as ever. Maybe it was the lighting or the way his hair curled above his brow, but she couldn’t say no when he asked her to be his fake girlfriend for his sister’s wedding. Another chance at being his friend and mending her immature mistake? How was she supposed to say no?
The weight of possible rejection from her dream grad school quickly became the least of her problems. She couldn't help but think that maybe she should’ve said no to protect her heart for a second time.
Julia Monroe Begins Again by Rebekah Millet
Samuel was back. It seemed unfair to be blindsided. And in church no less. Shouldn't there be a commandment about that? Thou shalt not step foot inside thy ex's place of worship.

With both her boys off to college, she can finally focus on expanding her New Orleans-based cleaning business. Julia is ready for new beginnings--but God has other plans. Samuel Reed, the ruggedly handsome Green Beret who shattered her heart over twenty years ago, has returned to town and is the kind of distraction she never saw coming.
After their first interaction in years leaves her mind spinning and her emotions out of control, Julia knows she needs to avoid him if she wants any chance of preventing history from repeating itself, but her meddling best friend keeps throwing them together. And now it seems inevitable that the man who was hard to forget might just be impossible to resist.
Memory Lane by Becky Wade
After surviving a trauma several years back, Remy Reed relocated to a cottage on one of Maine’s most remote islands. She’s arranged her life just the way she wants it, spending her time working on her wood sculptures and soaking in the beauty of nature. It’s quiet and solitary—until the day she spots something bobbing in the ocean.
Her binoculars reveal the “something” to be a man, and he’s struggling to keep his head above water. She races out to save him and brings him into her home. He’s injured, which doesn’t detract from his handsomeness nor make him any easier to bear. He acts like a duke who’s misplaced his dukedom . . . expensive tastes, lazy charm, bossy ideas.
Remy would love nothing more than to return him to his people, but he has no recollection of his life prior to the moment she rescued him. Though she’s not interested in relationships other than the safe ones she’s already established, she begins to realize that he’s coming to depend on her.
Who is he? What happened that landed him in the Atlantic Ocean? And why is she drawn to him more and more as time goes by?
There’s no way to discover those answers except to walk beside him down memory lane.

But He's My Grumpy Neighbor by Annah Conwell
It’s not stalking if he’s your hot neighbor… right?
At least, that’s what I tell myself when Adrian Carter moves in next door.
His scowl should make me want to run in the other direction, but when I catch him smothering a smile around me, it makes me want to get to know him more.
And when Adrian starts to open up, I find myself falling in love with the cinnamon roll center hidden beneath his gruff exterior.
But between my emotional baggage and his aversion to relationships, it’s looking like we’ll never be more than neighborly.

Now Logan is back in Harvest Hollow, but not willingly. Recovering from an injury (and some bad press), he’s stuck playing for our minor league team. Which means I’ll be working with him almost daily.

Kissing for Keeps by Martha Keyes
Siena
Coming on the heels of a big, fat failure at work, my best friend Madi's glamorous French wedding is the perfect opportunity to prove I can do some things well–even if it kills me, which is looking like a distinct possibility. Maid of honor duties are no joke. And while I could honestly use an extra hand or ten, I have to refuse the offer of help from Madi's flirt of a brother, Jack. Nothing would spoil the beautiful wedding festivities faster than her finding out about that thing that happened between Jack and me that one time . . . Not that there's any danger of it happening again. It was so long ago, I've forgotten everything about it, down to the brand of his cologne. Aqua Di Gio is so utterly predictable.
Jack
I admit, I haven't been the best brother to Madi. Okay, slight understatement–a history of dating her friends and ruining those friendships has landed me squarely in her black books. But my offer to help Siena isn't some underhanded scheme to hurt Madi a third time. I genuinely want to be a better brother. As for teasing Siena in the meantime? That's just standard procedure for me. Because everything is totally normal here. Nothing to see, folks.
Desire or Defense by Leah Brunner
I'm not the hero in this story. I'm the villain...
The notoriously angry, grouchy, D.C. Eagles defenseman that just can't keep his temper in check. The temper that leads to a fifteen game suspension from the NHL.
As if that's not bad enough, I'm forced into a short term youth-hockey coaching gig. Which my manager swears will "rebuild my image."
But what I didn't expect was for a gorgeous, spunky blonde to stomp onto the ice on day one and lecture me about being rude to her little brother.
Something about this spitfire of a woman, and the boy she's so protective of, has my defenses melting.
And if I'm not careful, I'll burst into flames, forever melting the ice I've carefully kept around my heart.

Authentically, Izzy by Pepper Basham
Dear Reader,
My name is Isabelle Louisa Edgewood--Izzy, for short. I live by blue-tinted mountains, where I find contentment in fresh air and books. Oh, and coffee and tea, of course. And occasionally in being accosted by the love of my family. (You'll understand my verb choice in the phrase later.) I dream of opening my own bookstore, but my life, particularly my romantic history, has not been the stuff of fairy tales. Which is probably why my pregnant, misled, matchmaking cousin--who, really, is more like my sister--signed me up for an online dating community.
The trouble is . . . it worked. I've met my book-quoting Mr. Right, and our correspondence has been almost too good to be true. But Brodie lives across an ocean. And just the other day, a perfectly nice author and professor named Eli came into the library where I work and asked me out for a coffee. I feel a rom-com movie with a foreboding disaster nipping at my heels.
But I've played it safe for a long time. Maybe it's time for me to be as brave as my favorite literary heroines. Maybe it's time to take the adventures from the page to real life. Wish me luck.
Authentically, Izzy

The important thing is: Kate is back. (Temporarily.) And I’m still in love with her. (Permanently.)
But something is different now. The attraction doesn’t seem one-sided. I don’t think I’m imagining the heat in Kate’s eyes or the chemistry crackling between us.
But will that be enough to keep Kate here, when, for as long as I can remember, all she’s wanted to do is leave?
I’m determined to give her a reason to stay. Family. Connection. Roots. And me. I’ll have to start with sparks and fire, but if I take this step, there’s no turning back to simple friendship. And if she doesn’t feel the same way, I might lose her again—this time for good.
All That Really Matters by Nicole Deese

Despite his ridiculous rules and terms, Molly dives into mentoring, surprising herself with the genuine connections and concern she quickly develops for the girls--and Silas. But just as everything seems perfectly aligned for her professional future, it starts to crumble under the pressure.

Along the way, they may discover that their stories are more similar than they thought . . . and their dreams aren't what they expected.
